What is Peer Mediation?
Peer Mediators are trained in the process and skills needed to mediate between two parties neutrally, they are trained to see both sides of an argument and help others to come to a solution themselves. The aim of Peer Mediation here at QMPS is to encourage our pupils to resolve issues in the school playground using mediation. This important role can be extremely beneficial to the children in the playground as well as the peer mediators themselves.
Who are our Peer Mediators at QMPS?
Year 6 have been trained in school during their PSHE lessons. They are around at lunch and break times to support our pupils. We hold termly meeting with a member of staff to talk through what support they have given to pupils and if they need any further support and training.
