Year 3 is taught by Miss Rogers with Mrs Smith as the class Teaching Partner.
There is a careful and gradual transition from the end of Year 2 to Year 3 which prepares children for the increasing expectations of them as they move into Key Stage 2. The children embed their learning in a supportive and caring environment.
Our autumn term theme is 'Rousing Romans' through which we will be learning to become historians. The Knowledge Organiser below includes key facts and skills we'll be learning. We've sent a copy home for you to use to learn and revise with your Magpie.
There are three other important ways families can support their children's learning at home:
READING regularly with and to your child.
SPELLINGS practice. In the documents below you will find a termly list of spelling words that will be taught and tested each week.
TIMES TABLES practice. This is a vital element of Maths learning. The link to our Times Tables Rock Stars site is below. A copy of your child's user name and password has been sent home.
Due to current circumstances, we are sadly unable to welcome you into class, but each week we will post class news and congratulations to the children we have celebrated with during our class celebration assembly.
There are no statutory assessments carried out at the end of the year but teacher assessments are used to make judgements about how well your child is performing in reading, writing, maths, science, speaking and listening and spelling, punctuation and grammar throughout the year.
