Year 4 - Owls

Welcome to Year 4 - Owls!

Year 4 is taught by Mr Smith with Mrs Mills as the Teaching Partner.

A message on Home Learning from Mr Smith:

In these tricky times it is important to ensure that we are still filling our days with opportunities to learn. Knowledge and learning experiences can be discovered in all sorts of ways outside of school, therefore I hope that the information below will help to structure the time spent at home.

  • Work will be set regularly and parents will be informed when Home Learning packs can be collected from school.
  • Below are copies of the Home Learning time table and covering letter/grid for information on how to best structure and use your time.
  • I (Mr Smith) will be making weekly calls to the class (most likely on a Monday) to catch up with Home Learning and other aspects of a child's education that wish to be discussed.
  • If you wish to contact me, you can do so via email at
  • Mrs Bennion can also be reached via email at

The children continue to build on their learning and begin to focus on the increasing expectations of them in a supportive and caring environment.

There are no statutory assessments carried out at the end of the year, however and teacher assessments are used to make judgements about how well your child is performing in reading, writing, maths, science, speaking and listening and spelling, punctuation and grammar throughout the year.
